Austrian international forward Stefan Maierhofer has left Wolverhampton Wanderers after two years in England and signed a two-year deal with Salzburg.

The 29-year-old Maierhofer, capped 17 times with Austria, is expected to earn £1 million.

Maierhofer, who stands at over two metres tall, joined Wolves in 2009 from Rapid Vienna, but spent last season on loan at Duisburg in the German second tier.
