Unam Pumas spurned the chance to reclaim top spot in the Apertura table after slumping to a 2-1 defeat at Puebla on Sunday.

While victory would have been enough to take Unam above Guadalajara but instead they went two behind inside 24 minutes, with Alan Zamora and DaMarcus Beasley on target.

A red card for David Cabrera followed eight minutes before half-time and they were unable to add to Javier Cortes' 76th-minute goal.

Club America hammered Atlas 5-2, with Christian Benitez celebrating a second-half hat-trick. Angel Reyna and Vicente Sanchez also netted for the hosts, while Georgie Welcome and Flavio Santos gave some respectability to the scoreline for Atlas.

Toluca came from behind to see off bottom club Atlante 2-1, Nester Calderon and Isaac Brizuela responding to Christian Bermudez's opener.
