Allsvenskan leaders Helsingborg extended their advantage over Elfsborg to three points after an extraordinary finish to their match away to struggling Syrianska. The leaders went behind to Nahir Oyal's goal a minute after half-time, and Joseph Baffo's 77th-minute equaliser was merely the prelude to the chaotic closing stages.

With five minutes remaining, Syrianska were aggrieved that their opponents did not put the ball out of play for the injured Razak Omotoyossi to receive treatment. Substitute Ahmet Ozdemirok eventually took the law into his own hands, hacking down Ardian Gashi - and his subsequent dismissal angered the home side further. In the ensuing melee, Omotoyossi got to his feet and pushed referee Martin Hansson to earn himself a red card, with coach Ozcan Melkemichel also sent to the stands.

Worse was to follow as the long delay led to six minutes of injury time and Peter Larsson grabbed Helsingborg's winner five minutes into that period - and the visitors were further cheered by news of Elfsborg's goalless draw at home to mid-table Kalmar.

Events in Sodertalje even overshadowed those in Halmstad, where Joe Sise's 89th-minute strike saw the hosts beat Norrkoping as they shared nine goals. Emil Salomonsson gave Halmstad an early lead and it was the 45th minute before Shpetin Hasani drew the visitors level.

Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson and Christopher Telo then put Norrkoping 3-1 up, only for Sise's penalty and a Joel Johansson strike to level the scores once more. Substitute Astrit Ajdarevic restored Norrkoping's lead but Marcus Olsson equalised once more and Sise earned his side a 5-4 victory.

Orebro hammered Hacken 4-0 thanks to goals from Robin Staaf (34), Valdet Rama (60) and substitutes Kushtrim Lushtaku (82) and Magnus Kihlberg (90).

There was another last-minute goal as Djurgarden drew 2-2 at home to GAIS. Markus Gustafsson gave the visitors a first-minute lead which was cancelled out by Peter Nymann (57) and Eric Bassombeng quickly restored GAIS' lead before Petter Gustafsson earned the hosts a point.
