FC Thun dropped their first points of the fledgling Swiss Super League season after playing out a goalless draw away to Lucerne.
Thun, who had won their opening two matches, remain top of the table but are now just one point ahead of Sion, who climbed into second after defeating bottom club Neuchatel Xamax 3-0 away from home.
Vilmos Vanczak opened the scoring for Sion in the 44th minute and the same player wrapped up the scoring in the 81st minute after Giovanni Sio had made it 2-0 just after half-time. The defeat leaves Neuchatel without a point from their three games, with eight goals conceded and none scored.
Young Boys and Servette drew 1-1 in the day's other game, with both goals scored in the opening four minutes.
Hosts Young Boys took the lead after two minutes through Jerome Schneider's own goal, but Servette drew level almost immediately thanks to Mathias Vitkieviez to earn a share of the points.
