Oribe Peralta struck a hat-trick as Santos Laguna opened their Apertura campaign with a 4-1 win at Pachuca. Peralta set his side on course for their comfortable success with goals in the 11th and 37th minute before Ivan Estrada made it 3-0 just before half-time.

Mexico international Peralta then completed his treble on 72 minutes before a Leobardo Lopez penalty ten minutes from the end gave the home fans some reason for cheer.

Second-half goals from Omar Arellano (55) and substitute Jesus Sanchez (90) guided Guadalajara to a 2-0 win at Atlante while Luis Garcia's 54th-minute penalty was enough for Puebla to register another away success at Atlas.

Puebla held on for their victory despite Lucas Silva seeing red 21 minutes from the end. Miguel Sabah's 84th-minute spot-kick earned Morelia a 2-1 win over Tijuana after Luis Sandoval's early opener had been cancelled out by Benny Corona just before half time.

Tigres Monterray and Cruz Azul played out a 1-1 draw. Javier Aquino fired Cruz Azul ahead on 19 minutes but Hector Mancilla levelled for the hosts with 38 minutes played.
