Emerging France midfielder Marvin Martin has confirmed he hopes to leave Sochaux.

"For the moment I am still a Sochaux player, but if the right offer comes in then I would like to leave," Martin, who scored a double in a 4-1 win over Ukraine on his international debut last month, told AFP.

"I don't want to just leave for the sake of it, I want to make the right decision. If I go, it has to be because there is a chance for me to progress as a player. It would be great to get the chance to move to one of France's biggest clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain, Lille, Lyon or Marseille."

Sochaux president Alexandre Lacombe had previously stated that Martin was "not for sale at any price," but while the 23-year-old is now hoping the chief changes his stance, he also insists he will continue to give his all whatever happens.

"If a good offer comes in, then I would like to think that [Lacombe] would try to help me. I want everything to go well, but my mindset will always remain the same. If I don't leave I will still be a Sochaux player.

"I'm not the kind of person who enjoys confrontations. Sochaux trained me as a player, and it is largely thanks to them that I am where I am today. I love this club and I will never be able to thank them enough."

Martin, who was the inspiration behind Sochaux's fine 2010/11 season, in which they finished fifth in Ligue 1, stressed that his desire to move on had nothing to do with his recent breakthrough into Laurent Blanc's France XI.

He said: "It has nothing to do with the national team. I had made my mind up before I was even called up. I have been at Sochaux for ten years now and for the sake of my career and progression, I would like to try something new and make the step up to the next level."

Martin is currently under contract with Sochaux until 2014.
