Los Angeles Galaxy played out a hard-fought 0-0 draw at home to Seattle Sounders, extending their lead at the head of the Western Conference to two points.

They have played two more games than FC Dallas, though, and even the second-half introduction of David Beckham could not fashion a winner.

There was considerably more action in the clash between Real Salt Lake and New England Revolution, with the pair sharing six goals.

Salt Lake had Nat Borchers sent off after just three minutes, with New England's Rajko Lekic converting a penalty as a result. Chris Tierney made it two shortly afterwards, but Will Johnson pulled a goal back before the break.

Alvaro Saboria made it 2-2 after the restart, but Shalrie Joseph made it 3-2 to the Revolution before they too were reduced to ten men when Ryan Cochrane received a second yellow card. And that paved the way for substitute Edgar Espindola to make it 3-3 with seven minutes to go.
