Elfsborg closed to within two points of Allsvenskan leaders Helsingborg with a 3-0 win away to Orebro. However, it was not as one-sided as it appeared by the end, with Stefan Ishizaki's tenth-minute strike all that separated the sides until late in the match, after the hosts had goalkeeper John Alvbage sent off with 13 minutes to go.

Amadou Jawo added a second in the 89th minute and Johan Larsson a third in the dying seconds. Elfsborg have played a game more than the leaders.

Hacken exploded as they thrashed struggling Mjallby 6-0, with five different players getting on the scoresheet. John Chibuike had a brace while Rene Makondele, Kari Arkivuo, Math Ranegie and Peter Nystrom got the others.

AIK came from behind to win 3-1 at Halmstad. The hosts led through Joe Sise's 17th-minute penalty, but Mohamed Bangura levelled in the 33rd minute before a second-half brace from Teteh Bangura secured the points.

Malmo saw off Norrkoping 2-1 after first-half goals from Jimmy Durmaz and Daniel Larsson. Imad Khalili got one back for the visitors in the 78th minute but they could not find an equaliser.
