"President Massimo Moratti and everyone at the club thank him for what has been achieved together and wish him the very best of luck for the next stage of his career."

Leonardo joined Inter in December just six months after parting company with AC Milan. He led I Nerazzurri to finish runners-up in Serie A and win the Coppa Italia.

Inter appointed former Genoa tactician Gian Piero Gasperini as Leonardo's replacement last week.
