'Loved' Higuain pleased with Madrid life
The 23-year-old former River Plate star, who missed a large part of last season due to a hernia injury, says he is happy in Madrid and will fight for a place in Jose Mourinho's plans.
"I wish to stay on. I want to win more titles and I feel loved by the fans. There's nothing better than being here. This is the best club in the world," he said.
"I'm aware that, given the great players in the squad at Real Madrid, one has to work hard every day to earn a spot on the team."
Higuain, who is currently preparing for the Copa America with Argentina, also praised his Real team-mates and targeted more silverware next season.
He said: "I won the Copa del Rey last season and played with star players I never thought I'd play with.
"I will enjoy wearing this shirt while it lasts. We have a humble squad. We are united and we want to achieve many things.
"I'm very grateful to the coach. He's been great with me. I've only got nice things to say about him."
