Schweinsteiger underlines title necessity
Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger admits there will be no excuses if Bayern Munich do not regain their Bundesliga title next season.
The Bavarians finished ten points behind champions Borussia Dortmund last term, but with a new coach in Jupp Heynckes and a new goalkeeper in Manuel Neuer, Schweinsteiger, believes Bayern have to win it back.
"We have a new team, a new coach and want to win titles and play nice football," the Germany international said on www.tz-online.de. "With this squad we have to win titles."
As the club's longest serving player and with 87 caps for his country, the 26-year-old knows there is more responsibility on his shoulders than most. "I have been here the longest and know that I have to lead the team," Schweinsteiger added.
