Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has welcomed the arrival of Gian Piero Gasperini as his side's new coach. Gasperini will become the club's fourth coach in a year when he replaces Leonardo, who is set to accept the role of sporting director at Paris St Germain later this week.
Zanetti is convinced that Gasperini, who has penned a two-year deal with Inter, is the right man to guide i Nerazzurri. "Gasperini is enthusiastic and really geared up," Zanetti said. "I am confident about his quality. I also spoke to our president (Massimo Moratti) and he also got the same impression. Gasperini will find a good group that is ready to follow him."
Gasperini has been out of a job since being dismissed by Genoa back in November, a club he led for four seasons.
Under Leonardo, Inter finished runners-up in Serie A and won the Coppa Italia. The Brazilian was under contract with Inter for a further season but has opted to pursue a career away from coaching.
