AZ Alkmaar defender Hector Moreno has completed a move to Espanyol on a five-year deal, the Eredivisie club have announced.

The 23-year-old Mexico international had been under contract with AZ until the summer of 2014, but will now continue his career in La Liga.

AZ, who confirmed the news in a statement on their website, did not disclose the transfer fee.

Moreno spent three seasons at Alkmaar, making 80 appearances and scoring six goals.
