New York Red Bulls earned their first victory since 30 April with a 2-1 edge over
Goalkeeper Greg Sutton saved Shalrie Joseph's attempt from the spot in the 33rd minute, and New York soon had luck go their way when they went ahead through Ryan Cochrane's 34th-minute own-goal. And, Thierry Henry's 50th-minute effort put New York two up.
Zak Boggs scored four minutes later, but the visitors could not find an equaliser, sending New York provisionally to the top in the Eastern Conference ahead of Philadelphia Union, who are still to play this weekend against Real Salt Lake.
