Getafe have confirmed the arrival of Diego Castro on a free transfer from Sporting Gijon.

Castro, 28, has played 96 games in La Liga for Malaga and Sporting, and has agreed a four-year contract with the Madrid-based club.

A statement on Getafe's official website said: "Diego Castro will be a Getafe footballer next season. The player and Getafe have reached an agreement for the next four years."
