Substitute Han Yanming's last-minute winner gave Tianjin Teda a hard-fought away victory as the northern side got the better of Hangzhou Greentown 2-1 in the Chinese Super League at Yiwu Meihu Stadium.
Yu Dabao opened the scoring three minutes before the break with a superb long-range volley that Du Wei cancelled out with a header midway through the second half. Han's late intervention then handed the visitors three valuable points following their disappointing 3-0 defeat by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League on Tuesday.
Hangzhou began strongly and Uruguayan midfielder Paulo Pezzolano fired a 25-yard free-kick just over the crossbar after 13 minutes. Just before the half-hour mark, Liao Bochao sent an inviting cross across the face of the goal, but Luciano Olguin's header was denied by Hangzhou goalkeeper Jiang Bo.
Tianjin then opened the scoring with half-time approaching as Yu volleyed past Jiang from 35 yards after collecting the keeper's poor clearance.
Four minutes after the interval, Honduran striker Luis Ramirez came close to an equaliser, latching onto Wang Song's cross, but his header was saved by keeper Yang Qipeng. Du drew Hangzhou level in the 66th minute, though, when he reacted quickly to head in a rebound from the close range after Sebastian Vazquez's powerful effort was blocked.
Jiang then made a series of excellent saves to keep the Tianjin strikers at bay, but Han gave the visitors all three points in the dying moments, firing home at the far post with a left-footed shot.
"We won the three points by overcoming fatigue," Tianjin manager Arie Haan said. "It was obviously a valuable win for my side."
Tianjin now have 15 points, four adrift of leaders Guangzhou Evergrande who drew 1-1 with Changchun Yatai at Guangzhou Tianhe Stadium. Changchun went in front after half an hour when Brazilian striker Dori fired past keeper Li Shuai. However, Muriqui rescued a point for the hosts two minutes before time, knocking Gao Lin's pass into an empty net.
Elsewhere, Dalian Shide were beaten at home 3-0 by Shandong Luneng as Han Peng scored twice after Lebanon international Roda Antar had put them in front, while Cristian Danalache's goal 11 minutes from the break saw Jiangsu Shuntian edge out Shaanxi Zhongxin 1-0.
Goals in each half from Zhou Zheng and Zheng Long saw Qingdao Zhongneng down Liaoning Zhongyu 2-0 and Nanchang Bayi and Henan Jianye played out a goalless draw.
