Hangzhou Greentown failed to claim top spot in the Super League as a 1-1 draw at Changchun Yatai left them a point behind Guangzhou Evergrande.

Victory would have taken the visitors to the summit but they were up against it from the moment Du Zhengyu scored a 21st-minute opener for Changchun. Yan Li notched a 72nd-minute equaliser but Hangzhou could not find a winner.

Zhang Wenzhao twice went close for Changchun in the early stages, hitting the post with his second effort, and Luis Ramirez curled a shot just wide before Du crashed a 25-yard free-kick into the bottom corner.

Sebastian Vazquez wasted the chance to level when he shot over from a good position but Yan clipped Rong Hao's deep cross past goalkeeper Zong Lei.

My players lacked patience. We should have scored more than one goal.
Wu Jingui, Hangzhou Greentown coach

"My players lacked patience," said Hangzhou coach Wu Jingui. "We should have scored more than one goal. But it was overall a good match."

Opposite number Shen Xiangfu said: "It is a pity that our winless streak continued but I would say my players did their best today."

Shanxi Zhongxin beat Shanghai Shenhua 1-0 to move ahead of their opponents into fifth place on goals scored. Milos Bajalica scored the only goal in the ninth minute, the Serb defender heading in Zhao Xuri's corner.

Dalian Shide secured only their second victory of the season as Zhao Xuebin's last-minute goal earned them a 1-0 success against fellow slow starters Henan Jianye.
