Champions Zenit St Petersburg suffered their second defeat of the season 2-1 at Tomsk. Pavel Golshev scored the winner on 52 minutes to drop Zenit down to fourth after Spartak Moscow thumped Krasnodar 4-0.

Tomsk led through a 37th-minute strike from Yevgeni Starikov and, while Aleksei Ionov responded for Zenit two minutes later, Golshev ensured the hosts claimed their first home win.

That result meant Spartak climbed up to third after Ferreira Ari and Artem Dzjuba both bagged doubles. Ari opened the scoring on the half-hour before Dzjuba made the points safe with strikes on 51 and 65 minutes. Ari added his second in stoppage time.

Rostov were also convincing winners as they put three goals past Amkar Perm without reply. All the goals came in the second half with Roman Adamov opening the scoring on 50 minutes before further strikes from Alexandru Gatcan (82) and substitute Dragan Blatnjak (87).

Krylya Sovetov remained bottom of the table after they lost 1-0 at Dinamo Moscow. Ukraine striker Andriy Voronin scored the only goal after 48 minutes.
