Besiktas had their Portuguese stars to thank as they came from behind to claim a 3-1 home victory over Eskisehirspor in the Turkish Super Lig tonight.
Eskisehirspor took a 26th-minute lead through Erkan Zengin, with Besiktas levelling before the break through an excellent solo strike in the 37th minute from Manuel Fernandes.
Portuguese midfielder Hugo Almeida headed Besiktas ahead after 58 minutes and a penalty three minutes from the end by their fellow countryman Simao Sabrosa killed off Eskisehirspor's hopes.
Despite the win, Besiktas can finish no higher than their current fifth place with only one match remaining to their season.
