Cruz Azul look on course for a place in the final of the Torneo Clausura after a 2-0 win over Morelia in the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday.
Christian Gimenez put the home side in front after 27 minutes and Emanuel Villa doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time.
The other semi-final between Guadalajara and Unam Pumas finished 1-1, with both teams finishing the game with ten men. Guadalajara's Hector Reynoso was dismissed after 33 minutes, but the Pumas played just 12 minutes with a man advantage before David Cabrera also saw red. Efrain Velarde gave the Pumas the lead early in the second half, but Omar Arellano equalised a minute from time.
