Palermo playmaker Javier Pastore hopes he can help the club achieve the "great dream" of lifting the Coppa Italia following last night's semi-final success over Serie A champions AC Milan.

Argentina international Pastore, who has been linked with a move to I Rossoneri, was an influential figure as goals from Giulio Migliaccio and Cesare Bovo sealed a 2-1 win on the night and a 4-3 aggregate success that sent the Sicilians into a first Coppa final since 1979.

Pastore hopes his side can now complete the job and secure the first major trophy in their history in Rome later this month.

He told the club's website: "After the first leg we realised that we were really able to do the business and last night we repeated a great performance in front of an extraordinary crowd.

"Thanks to their incredible support we were able to beat a side as strong as I Rossoneri. I see the final in Rome as the most important game of my sporting life. I will do everything I can to be able to be part of a great dream."
