Inter Milan's Serbian midfielder Dejan Stankovic is likely to miss the rest of the season with a groin strain, the Serie A club said.

Stankovic, who gave Inter the edge in a 1-0 win over Roma last week, is expected to be sidelined for around a month with the final round of league games on 22 May.

He picked up the injury during last weekend's ten-man turnaround win over Lazio. Inter are in second place, eight points adrift of Serie A leaders AC Milan.
