Clausura leaders Velez Sarsfield saw their lead at the top of the table cut to just a point after a 3-2 defeat at home to Quilmes.
Hector Canteros had put the hosts 1-0 ahead at half-time but Miguel Caneo and a quick-fire double from substitute Pablo Vazquez put the visitors in control.
Quilmes, who lie one place off the foot of the table, then saw Pablo Garnier dismissed with seven minutes to play, but Agustin Vuletich's late strike was not enough for Velez.
Godoy Cruz are now up to second place after beating River Plate 2-1. Jonathan Maidana fired River into the lead but Zelmar Garcia and Mariano Donda replied for the visitors.
Jorge Achucarro got the only goal of the game as Banfield won at bottom-club Newell's Old Boys, while Esteban Fuertes and Damian Diaz gave Colon Santa Fe a 2-0 win at Estudiantes.
The day's other game saw Independiente drop to third place as they played out a 2-2 draw with All Boys. Goals from Facundo Parra and Roberto Battion had put Independiente in control but Sebastien Ereros and Emanuel Gigliotti struck in quick succession to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
