River Plate stayed top of the Clausura table in Argentina but could not do it in style as they were held to a goalless draw at struggling Gimnasia La Plata.
The draw kept them a point clear of Velez Sarsfield, who needed a last-minute leveller from Victor Zapata to claim a 1-1 draw at Colon Santa Fe. Ivan Moreno y Fabianesi had but the hosts ahead in the 66th minute.
A point behind Velez are Olimpo and Estudiantes, who drew 2-2 today. Diego Galvan's penalty on the half-hour mark put Olimpo ahead, but Marcelo Mosset's own goal nine minutes after the break and Gaston Fernandez's effort four minutes later turned the game around.
Olimpo were not behind for long, though, as Nestor Bareiro levelled three minutes later. The day's other game was also drawn as Boca Juniors came from two goals and then one goal down to claim a point against Tigre.
Denis Straqualursi scored a hat-trick for Tigre, but goals from Nicolas Colazo and Juan Riquelme made it 2-2, before Clemente Rodriguez's goal made it 3-3.
