Portimonense boosted their slim survival hopes in the Portuguese Liga with a 1-0 win at Uniao Leiria.

Knowing only a win would keep them going in the division for another week, the visitors took the lead through Pedro Silva's 62nd-minute goal and then hung on as Silva and Uniao's Saidou Panandetiguiri both saw red.

Carlos Milhazes scored the only goal as Rio Ave beat Naval 1-0 to leave them in the drop-zone and five points adrift of safety.

Porto remain on course to go through the season unbeaten after they got the better of Sporting 3-2.

Matias Fernandez scored the first and last goals of the game for Sporting, but in between a brace from Falcao and a goal from Walter earned Porto the points.

The day's other game saw Benfica beat Beira Mar 2-1. Rechel Sidnei and Franco Jara put Benfica in control, with Ishamel Yartey netting a late consolation.
