Zanetti looking forward, Ibra returns
Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti is wearing a brave face heading into this weekend's home game against Chievo. The Nerazzurri have endured one of the worst two-game stretches in recent seasons with a 3-0 defeat in the Milan derby last weekend followed by a 5-2 humiliation at Schalke in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
"We have to be serene and remain calm," Zanetti said. "We must find out what the problem was and try to bounce back, just as we have done earlier this season. I am sure we will be able to recover. We cannot throw away the good work we have done this season because of these two defeats. Now we look ahead."
In losing to Serie A leaders AC Milan, the Nerazzurri dropped to third in the standings, five points behind the Rossoneri with seven games remaining. AC Milan travel to Tuscany to face Fiorentina bolstered by the return of the team's top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic from suspension.
Napoli, who are in second place and three points behind Milan and two points clear of Inter, play on Sunday at Bologna. The Azzurri have won their past three matches but will be without the services of star striker Edinson Cavani. Cavani, who has scored 25 league goals this season, must serve a one-match ban on Sunday.
Udinese held on to the last Champions League qualifying spot despite last weekend's 2-0 setback at Lecce, which ended their 13-match unbeaten run. However, a defeat on Sunday against sixth-placed Roma could see Lazio leapfrog them into fourth place provided the Biancoceleste beat Parma. Lazio trail Udinese by two points.
Juventus, who host Genoa on Sunday, won 2-0 at Roma last weekend to revive their hopes of playing in Europe next season. The Turin giants are seventh in the standings, two points behind Roma.
Palermo fans will be hoping the return of coach Delio Rossi sparks the team into life. The Sicilians sacked coach Serse Cosmi after Sunday's 4-0 defeat at Catania and put the reins back in the hands of former boss Rossi. Palermo have lost six of their past seven games and host Cesena on Sunday.
Brescia, who are 19th and two points adrift of the last position of safety in Serie A, take on Cagliari in Sardinia. The Rondinelle beat Bologna 3-1 last time out to halt a six-match winless run.
Catania will seek their first win on the road this season at bottom-side Bari on Sunday. Sampdoria go into Sunday's home match against Lecce under immense pressure. The Blucherciati have not won since 13 February and are 15th in the standings, just two points clear of the drop zone.
