Godoy Cruz moved within two points of Argentinian Clausura leaders Racing Club last night thanks to a 2-0 win over Lanus.

Nicolas Olmedo opened the scoring eight minutes before half-time and a Santiago Hoyos own goal midway through the second half sealed the home victory.

Colon Santa Fe climbed to sixth on the back of a 2-0 triumph at second-bottom All Boys. Federico Higuain and Ivan Moreno y Fabianesi netted the goals in either half, with Higuain's 89th-minute dismissal not proving costly.

River Plate slipped to eighth after being held to a 1-1 draw at Arsenal Sarandi. Jonathan Maidana put River ahead in the 13th minute but Mauro Obolo equalised three minutes later for ninth-placed Arsenal.

Finally, Juan Morales' second-half equaliser earned bottom club Quilmes their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw at home to Independiente, cancelling out Facundo Parra's 23rd-minute strike.
