Two goals in the final three minutes of extra time saw Brisbane Roar complete a dramatic comeback to win the A-League Grand Final against Central Coast Mariners on penalties at Suncorp Stadium.
Trailing 2-0 in the dying stages of the second additional period, Henrique reduced the arrears for Brisbane before Erik Paartalu headed home the equaliser with the last touch of the game. Goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos then proved the hero in the shootout, saving twice as Brisbane prevailed 4-2.
A goalless 90 minutes saw Roar skipper Matt McKay clear Adam Kwasnik's header off the line, while at the other end Mitch Nichols rattled the Mariners' crossbar. Kwasnik eventually broke the deadlock from a corner six minutes into extra time before turning provider, setting up Oliver Bozanic to make it 2-0.
However, the hosts gave themselves hope with three minutes to go when Carlos Solorzano found Thomas Broich and he fed Henrique to fire home.
Paartalu then headed in a corner in the last act of the game before Theoklitos denied Daniel McBreen and Pedj Bojic in the penalty shootout to consign Central Coast to their third Grand Final defeat.
