Cornthwaite latest Aussie to be Korea-bound
The 25-year-old has been released by Adelaide United to allow him to join the K-League team, but his two-year contract with the club is as yet to be finalised and subject to a medical. "I'm a little bit nervous but excited at the same time because every player wants to continue their career trying to make it overseas and this is a great opportunity to do that," Cornthwaite said.
The lanky Cornthwaite hopes to follow in the footsteps of former team-mates Sasa Ognenovski and Iain Fyfe by joining a Korean club, a path already taken by other Australian A-League defenders. Cornthwaite has played for Adelaide United since the inaugural A-League season kicked off in 2005 and made one appearance for the Socceroos in 2009.
