Ya Konan to miss Bayern clash
Hanover 96 will be without Ivory Coast striker Didier Ya Konan for Saturday's key German league clash against defending champions Bayern Munich because of a knee injury, his club said today.
Third-placed Hanover are looking to inflict a third-straight defeat on the Bavarian giants who were knocked out of the German cup by Schalke on Wednesday and lost 3-1 at home to league leaders Dortmund last Saturday.
The 26-year-old Ya Konan has netted 11 goals in 21 games this season, also missed last weekend's 1-0 win at Hamburg's St Pauli and now sits out his team's match against fourth-placed Bayern.
"We want to bring him back into the team slowly, without rushing him," said Hanover coach Mirko Slomka without giving an indication of when the striker may return.
