Barcelona midfielder Xavi will be out for seven to ten days due to a slight calf strain.
The 31-year-old underwent tests and an MRI this morning, with the club this afternoon announcing news of his likely absence on their website.
"Xavi Hernandez has a slight calf strain in his left leg and is expected to be out for around seven to ten days," the club confirmed.
The Spain star will therefore be sidelined for Saturday's La Liga trip to Mallora, and may also miss the game at Valencia three days later.
Barceona coach Pep Guardiola will also be without captain Carles Puyol and goalkeeper Victor Valdes through injury this weekend, while wingback Dani Alves is suspended.
