Tigres Monterrey missed the chance to go top of the Mexican Clausura as they were held to a goalless draw by Monterrey today. The point left Tigres a point behind leaders Unam Pumas.
Cruz Azul went third, two points off top spot, with a 2-1 win at home to Atlas, substitute Isaac Romo scoring the winner in the 90th minute. Flavio Santos had brought Atlas level in the 73rd minute, cancelling out Emanuel Villa's second-minute opener.
Atlas finished the game with ten men following Daniel Arreola's 90th-minute sending off. Alberto Medina scored twice as Guadalajara thrashed Pachuca 4-1.
Jorge Mora put Guadalajara ahead in the first minute and further goals from Medina and Erick Torres had them 3-0 up at the break. Edgar Benitez pulled one back for Pachuca two minutes after half-time, but Medina's second just before the hour mark extinguished any hope of a comeback.
Elsewhere, Queretaro won 2-0 at Santos Laguna thanks to first-half goals from Isaac Acuna and Carlos Bueno.
