Panathinaikos maintained their slim hopes of catching Super League leaders Olympiacos with a 3-1 win over AEK Athens today.

Kostas Katsouranis and Loukas Vyntra put them 2-0 up with goals either side of half-time and, after Ignacio Scocco had pulled a goal back, Djibril Cisse ensured victory in the 75th minute.

Xanthi beat Atromitos by the same 3-0 scoreline, Olubayi Adefemi opening the scoring three minutes after half-time before late goals from Vlasis Kasakis and Mauro Poy gave the scoreline a more emphatic look.

Mario Breska scored twice in three minutes from the hour mark as Olympiacos Volou won 2-1 at Larissa, whose 74th-minute consolation came from Tumer Metin.

Iraklis played out a goalless draw with relegation-threatened Asteras Tripoli in the day's other game.
