Christophe Lambert saw his 19th-minute opener for Lucerne cancelled out by Sander Keller after 31 minutes.
But Nico Siegrist popped up two minutes before the interval to ensure the points stayed with Lucerne, who have leaders Basle in their sights.
FC Zurich slipped down a place to third following a 4-2 loss at Young Boys. The visitors made the worst possible start when Jorge Teixeira put through his own net after five minutes, but Silvan Aegerter equalised after 25 minutes.
However, Young Boys then took a grip on the match with goals either side of half-time from Emiliano Dudar and Henri Bienvenu opening a 3-1 lead.
Eric Hassli pulled a goal back for Zurich from the penalty spot five minutes from time, but Mario Raimondi had the final say for the home side in stoppage time.
In today's other match, Grasshoppers climbed out of the bottom two thanks to a goalless draw at home to FC Thun.
