Basel ran out 3-0 winners over St Gallen today to stretch their lead at the top of Switzerland's Super League to four points.

Benjamin Huggel sent the hosts on their way with the opening goal after 11 minutes, and Alexander Frei added a second five minutes before the interval. David Abraham then wrapped up the win four minutes from time to give Basel some breathing space over nearest challengers FC Zurich, who play Young Boys tomorrow.

A 64th-minute goal from Dragan Mrdja earned FC Sion a 1-0 victory over Bellinzona to move up to fourth in the table.
