Brisbane Roar extended their unbeaten run in the A-League to 24 games after beating struggling North Queensland Fury 2-1 at Skilled Park today.

The visitors opened the scoring after 14 minutes when Mitch Nichols fired home from a James Meyer pass on the edge of the area. Brisbane added a second just before the hour after Thomas Broich lobbed a pass to half-time substitute Andrade Henrique and the Brazilian chipped over keeper Justin Pasfield and into the net.

Fury halved the deficit in the 65th minute when Andre Killian's cross was deflected beyond Michael Theoklitos by Milan Susak and though they pressed for an unlikely equaliser, Brisbane held on to seal the win.

Brisbane's 17th victory of the season means they now have 62 points at the top of the standings while Fury remain firmly rooted to the foot of the table, four points behind Perth Glory.
