Japan left-back Yuto Nagatomo has said that he is keen to prove his worth after joining Inter Milan on loan from Cesena for the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old sealed his switch yesterday, with Davide Santon moving on loan in the opposite direction, and is keen to make an impact with the reigning Serie A champions.
He told the Inter website: "I'm very happy to have joined Inter, the world champions. Now I have to prove to everyone that I can play. What's happened today came out of the blue, but now that I'm here I have to give it everything I've got."
The move completes a fantastic week for the former FC Tokyo man, who featured at last year's FIFA World Cup™, after he helped the national side to AFC Asian Cup glory in Sunday's final win over Australia.
He will become the first Japanese player to represent I Nerazzurri and he said: "That fills me with great pride. I really want to succeed wearing the Nerazzurri colours."
