Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has signed a contract extension to keep him at the Nou Camp until 2015. The 22-year-old this morning put pen to paper on his new deal at the club's offices alongside president Sandro Rosell.
The new agreement contains an automatic extension for a further year depending on games played in the 2014/15 campaign - and a buyout clause from €80m to €150m.
Busquets made his senior debut during the 2008/09 season and has since established himself as an important member of Pep Guardiola's squad.
After penning the new deal, Busquets told Barça TV: "I'm happy. It's the best way to start the year - great news for everyone. I am very young, I'm 22 years old, and hopefully will have a career full of successes."
He said he felt "joy, excitement... many sensations - all positive" at having committed his future to "the best club in the world".
A club statement this morning confirmed: "Barca midfielder Sergio Busquets this morning signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2015. The deal also includes the chance to extend the contract based on games played in its final season."
