Mazzarri praises Serie A equality
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri denies his team is suffering from vertigo as they sit second in Serie A, four points behind leaders AC Milan.
Napoli travel to rock-bottom Bari tomorrow looking to continue what has so far been a season to exceed expectations. But having been held 0-0 at home to Fiorentina last week when they could have closed the gap on Milan, Mazzarri denied his team are uncomfortable with their lofty status.
"There's great equality this year as never before," he said. "I think the league is level at the top and it's fascinating. It will be a great fight on every front. There's no way we're suffering from vertigo.
"Both ourselves and Lazio [third and behind Napoli on goal difference] can think about achieving great things but Palermo are also only six points behind us. Obviously I hope we can go all the way."
However, Mazzarri insists he is taking nothing for granted against Bari, particularly given how the side from Puglia performed away to Juventus last week. "There are no easy games, you just have to look at Juventus-Bari to know that.
"Bari probably deserved more than a draw [they actually lost] and I expect us to have a tough time. We shouldn't look at the standings. We'll have to match their motivation to make our greater quality count."
