Cruz Azul, Atlas win big in Clausura
Atlas opened their Torneo Clausura campaign in grand fashion with a 5-0 drubbing of Morelia. Gerardo Espinoza scored twice and there were also goals for Wilman Conde, Christian Diaz and Daniel Osorno in a one-sided encounter.
Cruz Azul also started impressively with a 4-1 home win against Tecos. Emanuel Villa and Christian Gimenez put them two up before Mauro Cejas' penalty made it 2-1. Marcelo Palau and Gonzalo Pineda, with a late spot-kick, sealed the points.
San Luis beat Monterrey 2-0 courtest of goals from Osmar Mares and Juan Carlos Medina, and Santos Laguna were 2-1 victors over Atlante. Carlos Quintero and Christian Benitez put Santos ahead before a late consolation by Fernando Navarro.
In the final match Queretaro drew 2-2 with Tigres Monterrey. Queretaro were two up through Carlos Bueno's brace but Monterrey hit back with second-half strikes from Danilo Veron and Lucas Lobos.
