Hodgson keen to mould his own Liverpool
Beleaguered Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is still hoping he gets an opportunity to shape his own side at Anfield.
So tough has the 63-year-old's start to his Reds career been that rumours have circulated the club's American owners, New England Sports Ventures, are looking for a replacement.
Hodgson, though, is keen to point out he is still by and large working with the squad he inherited from Rafa Benitez.
"I'm hoping that one day I will get a chance to stamp a little bit more of my authority and philosophy on the team by choosing some more of the players," he said.
"Although it's not often mentioned I've not been that active in the transfer market since I've been here.
"The players here have done exceptionally well for me in accepting a new manager, but they are the ones you have watched for the past few years."
