Ibrahim Afellay today admitted to a few nerves as he begins life as a Barcelona player. The Dutchman arrived at the Camp Nou to complete his move from PSV Eindhoven, and was immediately struck by the size of the step up he is about to take.
"It's very special to be here, I'm very happy," he said. "I'm a little nervous, but that's OK. I'm at the best club in the world, an awesome club, and I'm enjoying the moment."
The 24-year-old, who came through the ranks at PSV, added: "I still have not fully realised everything I have got here. I just arrived, it's my first day in town, and I think it may take a while to sink in.
"This is a big dream. Every player wants to play for Barça. Any player will tell the world he wants to play here, where we practice the best football in the world."
Barca have paid a fee reported to be around €3m for Afellay in a deal that was agreed back in November.
