Estudiantes and Velez Sarsfield ensured the race for the Argentina Apertura title will go down to the wire after both winning their penultimate fixtures.
Leaders Estudiantes were 4-0 winners over River Plate while Velez ran out 2-0 victors over Huracan.
The results leaves Estudiantes with a two-point advantage over Velez heading into the final-round games. Estudiantes face third-placed Arsenal Sarandi on Sunday while Velez face an equally taxing encounter against fourth-placed Racing Club.
Goals from Leandro Desabato (2), Matias Sanchez (45), Marcos Rojo (46) and Gabriel Mercado (57) saw Estudiantes canter to victory at Monumental Stadium over a River outfit who had Jonathan Maidana sent off after 46 minutes.
Velez's win over bottom side Huracan came courtesy of goals by Jonatan Cristaldo after 51 and 83 minutes. Huracan ended with ten men after Gaston Monzon was sent off late on.
In the day's other game, Godoy Cruz and Racing played out a 1-1 draw. Jairo Castillo opened the scoring for Godoy but Ivan Pillud levelled for Racing four minutes from the break. Bruno Zuculini was dismissed for Racing in the closing minutes.
