Al Wakra claimed their first win in this year's Qatar Stars Cup following a 4-3 success against Al Ahli on Saturday.

Al Wakra opened the scoring through their Moroccan striker Adel Ramzi after only eight minutes before Hamad Mudhathar made it 2-0 two minutes later. Al Ahli pulled a goal back through Muhsin Abdullah on 24 minutes, but Youness Hawassi added a third goal for Al Wakra in the last minute of the first half. Ali Khamis scored two goals in three minutes soon after the break to bring Al Ahli level. However, Al Wakra sealed their win in the last minute as Hawassi netted a good individual effort.

Elsewhere, Al Sadd also registered their first win as they edged Umm Salal 2-0 in another Group A match. Yousef Ahmed gave the lead to Al Sadd four minutes before the break before he scored the second goal just seven minutes into the second period.

In the only other match today, Lekhwiya defeated Al Rayyan 5-1 to go on top of Group B. The round will continue on Sunday as Al Gharafa take on Qatar SC, Al Khraitiat meet Al Siliya while Al Khor play against Al Arabi.
