In-form goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is relishing life in Arsenal's first team and has set his sights on helping the Gunners to the top of the Premier League this weekend.

Following their hard-fought win at Everton on Sunday, a victory over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off would see Arsene Wenger's side go above Chelsea at the summit for a few hours at least.

Fabianski has become a key part of the Gunners team in recent weeks with key saves in hard-fought triumphs over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton, and the 25-year-old believes regular action is helping his confidence.

He said: "I just feel happy to be playing regularly every three days. I'm enjoying that and I just want to keep working hard and keep playing as best as I can."

Arsenal's upturn in form - they have won five of their last six league matches - has put them back in the title race but Fabianski says the team are taking it one game at a time.

"We are more focused on every single game rather than thinking about the title," he added on the club's website. "We want to be focused on the next game and the next game is Tottenham."

Jack Wilshere is expected to recover from the injury that kept him out of England's defeat against France but the game looks like it will come too soon for injured duo Thomas Vermaelen and Abou Diaby.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp received a major boost earlier in the week as Jermain Defoe made a welcome return to training one month early, but the team will have to do without inspirational midfielder Tom Huddlestone who has been ruled out for three months due to surgery on his ankle.

Leaders Chelsea will be looking to put a bad week behind them with a win at Birmingham City but they will be without key defenders John Terry and Alex as well as Frank Lampard, who still remains on the sidelines.

Following Chelsea's shock home defeat against Sunderland last weekend, Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is eyeing a major scalp, although is wary that Carlo Ancelotti's men will be out for revenge.

He said: "I don't know if Sunderland have done us any favours, put it that way. Having said that, we're at home and we think we can be a match for anybody at home."

Another Chelsea slip-up could see Manchester United close the gap on the Blues with a win over Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney could be in line for a return to the first team after a successful week's rehabilitation in the United States

In the evening kick-off, Liverpool and West Ham United meet at Anfield with both sides eyeing confidence-boosting wins. Hammers manager Avram Grant is under pressure to pick up a win with his side rooted to the bottom of the league, while Roy Hodgson will hope his team can return to the form that saw them string together a six-game unbeaten run before they came unstuck at Stoke City last weekend.

In Saturday's other fixtures, Blackpool host Wolves, Bolton Wanderers take on Newcastle United and Stoke make the short journey to West Bromwich Albion. On Sunday, Blackburn Rovers clash with Aston Villa and Manchester City will be look to get their title bid back on track as they take on former manager Mark Hughes' Fulham in the capital.

The action draws to a close on Monday evening at the Stadium of Light as Everton face a Sunderland side still on a high following their convincing 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
