Club America remained fourth in the Mexican Apertura overall standings after going down 1-0 at home to Unam Pumas on Sunday.

Dario Veron bagged the game's only goal after 11 minutes as America passed up the opportunity to extend their one-point advantage at the Group B summit.

The other two games in the Mexican top flight on Sunday ended in draws. Morelia and Puebla battled out a 3-3 tie in a topsy-turvy encounter which saw both sides end with ten men. Hugo Droguett put Morelia ahead after two minutes only for Gabriel Pereyra and Alvaro Ortiz to turn things around for the visitors.

Miguel Sabah got the hosts back on level terms three minutes after the interval and Morelia substitute Aldo Ramirez and Puebla's Felipe Ayala received their marching orders five minutes later. The action did not stop there, though, with Sabah putting his side ahead again in the 79th minute but the visitors had the last word when Andres Olivera equalised four minutes from time.

Finally, the match between Toluca and third-bottom Atlante finished 1-1. Jeronimo Amione gave Atlante the advantage a minute into the second half but Antonio Rios levelled midway through the second half for Toluca, who had Osvaldo Gonzalez sent off with nine minutes left.
