Qatar League champions Al Gharafa completed the first leg of this year's competition with a thumping 7-1 win over Al Ahli on Sunday in a postponed match from round one.

Al Gharafa, who moved on to 25 points to consolidate second spot, took the lead after 22 minutes through an own goal from Al Ahli's Brazilian defender Fabiano. Iraq striker Younis Mahmoud added the second from the penalty spot after 39 minutes and Brazilian forward Clemerson de Araujo made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time.

Araujo bagged his second 13 minutes after the break and, although Gilberto got Al Ahli on the scoresheet a minutes later, the goals soon continued back at the other end. Mahmoud grabbed his second goal of the game with a penalty 13 minutes from time and Araujo completed his hat-trick in the 86th minute before Brazilian midfielder Juninho Pernambucano sealed the rout.
