Porto maintained their unbeaten record, and their healthy lead at the top of the Liga standings, with a 2-0 victory over Portimonense tonight. Walter fired in the opener after 29 minutes with Hulk adding a last-minute penalty to make certain of the result.

Porto have won ten of their 11 fixtures so far this season and remain ten points clear of defending champions Benfica, who were 4-0 victors over Naval. Nicolas Gaitan scored twice for the Lisbon club with Alan Kardec and Nuno Gomes also finding the target in an impressive display against the league's bottom club.

Rio Ave claimed only their second win of the campaign with a 3-1 victory at home to 10-man Pacos Ferreira. Mario Rondon put the visitors ahead, but Rio responded with a Joao Tomas double and one more from Bruno Braga. Rondon was then dismissed after 76 minutes to cap a miserable afternoon for Pacos.

Serge N'Gal's goal earned Uniao Leiria a 1-0 victory over Vitoria Setubal, although both teams finished the match with 10 men following the dismissals of Ruben Brigido and Valdomiro.

A last-minute effort from Garcia Renan snatched a 1-1 draw for Beira Mar at Olhanense, who had led for much of the contest thanks to Granemann Adilson's early strike.
