Schalke coach Felix Magath is adamant Jefferson Farfan will not be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

The Peruvian forward, who joined Die Königsblauen from PSV in June 2008, has impressed in recent weeks despite the club's poor start to the Bundesliga season.

Selling Jefferson is not an issue. And I can't imagine that he wants to change clubs.

Farfan's form has reportedly attracted the attention of Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, but Magath has insisted the 26-year-old is not for sale.

He told the Bild newspaper: "Selling Jefferson is not an issue. And I can't imagine that he wants to change clubs."

However, there is still room for improvement in Farfan's game, according to the former Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg coach.

Magath said: "He is a class player who works hard, but with his fantastic shot he must make more runs into the box."
