Samuel could miss rest of season
Inter Milan centre-back Walter Samuel could miss the rest of the season after he was diagnosed with a torn cruciate knee ligament today.
The 32-year-old Argentinian international was stretchered off during yesterday's 1-1 draw with Brescia at the San Siro after hyper-extending his knee in the second half.
Inter said that Samuel will have to undergo an operation in the coming days to repair the damage.
Knee ligament injuries usually leave a player on the sidelines for around four to six months, meaning Samuel may not be fit again until May.
Brazilian right-back Maicon also underwent tests after he left the field in the first half against Brescia, the verdict being a strained hamstring.
